Case Study – Department of Immigration & Citizenship

Production of a set of pamphlets on Australian immigration law in Chinese

About the project

Department of Immigration & Citizenship (DIAC) produced a booklet introducing the outline of Australia immigration law. The materials in the brochure that required translation is legal in nature with complicated flowchart. It was valuable to have bilingual materials that detail the background, key features, and existing procedures for Australian migration profile, which proved very useful to its Chinese counterparts.

The draft translation was accurately done in time and sent to DIAC for review. DIAC Beijing office has commented specifically on how clear the translation is and how well the materials showed the complex procedure to its Chinese audience.

Able Chinese typesetting expert applied its experience and knowledge to flow the Chinese text nicely into the artwork file while keeping the original design and layout elements of the original.

The result matched the source document exactly, sent to the publishing company within the agreed time frame.

DIAC’s consultant for the project regarded Able Chineselink as efficient, attentive and easy to work with.
